RESUMO

The role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is critical in the emergence and progression of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), affecting cell survival, proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Further investigations are needed to elucidate these effects' precise pathways and devise therapeutic approaches targeting ROS. Moreover, the expression pattern and clinical significance of the ROS-related genes in LUAD remain elusive. Through comprehensive analysis incorporating 1494 LUAD cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas, six Gene Expression Omnibus series, and a Chinese LUAD cohort, we identified a ROS-related signature with substantial predictive value in various LUAD patient cohorts. The ROS-related signature has demonstrated a significant negative relationship with antitumor immunity and dendritic cell maturation and activation. Moreover, The ROS-related signature showed predictive value on immunotherapy outcomes across multiple types of solid tumors, including LUAD. These findings reinforce the ROS-related signature as a predictive tool for LUAD and provide new insights into its link with antitumor immunity and immunotherapy efficacy. These results have implications for refining clinical assessments and tailoring immunotherapeutic strategies for patients with LUAD.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the association between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index in early pregnancy and the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the second trimester. The primary objectives were to evaluate the predictive potential of the TyG index for GDM, determine the optimal threshold value of the TyG index for GDM assessment, and compare the predictive performance of the TyG index alone versus its combination with maternal age and pre-pregnancy body mass index on GDM. Moreover, the study explored the association between the TyG index in early pregnancy and the risk of other pregnancy-related complications (PRCs), such as placental abruption and gestational hypertension. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This prospective cohort study recruited 1,624 pregnant women who underwent early pregnancy antenatal counseling and comprehensive assessments with continuous monitoring until delivery. To calculate the TyG index, health indicators, including maternal triglycerides and fasting plasma glucose, were measured in early pregnancy (< 14 weeks of gestation). The predictive power of the TyG index for evaluating GDM in Chinese pregnant women was determined using multifactorial logistic regression to derive the odds ratios and 95% confidence interval (CI). Subgroup analyses were conducted, and the efficacy of the TyG index in predicting PRCs was assessed via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and restricted cubic spline, with the optimal cutoff value calculated. RESULTS: Logistic regression analyses revealed a 2.10-fold increase in the GDM risk for every 1-unit increase in the TyG index, after adjusting for covariates. The highest GDM risk was observed in the group with the highest TyG index compared with the lowest quintile group (odds ratios: 3.25; 95% CI: 2.23-4.75). Subgroup analyses indicated that exceeding the recommended range of gestational weight gain and an increased GDM risk were significantly associated (P = 0.001). Regarding predictive performance, the TyG index exhibited the highest area under the curve (AUC) value in the ROC curve for GDM (AUC: 0.641, 95% CI: 0.61-0.671). The optimal cutoff value was 8.890, with both sensitivity and specificity of 0.617.The combination of the TyG index, maternal age, and pre-pregnancy body mass index proved to be a superior predictor of GDM than the TyG index alone (AUC: 0.672 vs. 0.641, P < 0.01). After adjusting for multiple factors, the analyses indicated that the TyG index was associated with an increased risk of gestational hypertension. However, no significant association was noted between the TyG index and the risk of preeclampsia, placental abruption, intrauterine distress, or premature rupture of membranes. CONCLUSION: The TyG index can effectively identify the occurrence of GDM in the second trimester, aligning with previous research. Incorporating the TyG index into routine clinical assessments of maternal health holds significant practical implications. Early identification of high-risk groups enables healthcare providers to implement timely interventions, such as increased monitoring frequency for high-risk pregnant women and personalized nutritional counseling and health education. These measures can help prevent or alleviate potential maternal and infant complications, thereby enhancing the overall health outcomes for both mothers and babies.

RESUMO

To investigate the efficacy and safety of drug-eluting bead-transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) combined with systemic chemotherapy in HR+/Her2- locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) patients. A controlled study was conducted on LABC patients treated at Jianyang People's Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College from December 2020 to June 2022. The patients were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group received DEB-TACE combined with the TAC regimen (175 mg/m2 paclitaxel-loaded albumin, 50 mg/m2 Doxorubicin, and 500 mg/m2 cyclophosphamide), while the control group received the TAC regimen intravenously. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated using the mRECIST criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 software, and baseline characteristics, overall response rate (ORR), pathological complete response (PCR), adverse reactions, and complications were compared between the two groups using paired t-test and chi-square test. A total of 60 patients were included, with 30 patients in the experimental group (50%) and 30 patients in the control group (50%). After the first treatment, the ORR was 90% in the experimental group and 60% in the control group (P < 0.05). The overall ORR was 100% in the experimental group and 83% in the control group (P < 0.05). PCR was achieved in 14 patients (47%) in the experimental group and 4 patients (13%) in the control group. The main adverse reactions in the experimental group were skin blistering, pigmentation, and pain. There was no statistically significant difference in vomiting and grade II or above bone marrow suppression between the two groups. No grade III or above adverse events occurred in either group. The comparison of tumor shrinkage between the two groups was P = 0.051, and axillary lymph node shrinkage was P < 0.05. The use of drug-eluting beads in combination with neoadjuvant chemotherapy is a feasible and safe treatment option for locally advanced breast cancer patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) is a pleiotropic inflammatory cytokine that not only directly induces inflammatory gene expression but also triggers apoptotic and necroptotic cell death, which leads to tissue damage and indirectly exacerbates inflammation. Thus, identification of inhibitors for TNF-induced cell death has broad therapeutic relevance for TNF-related inflammatory diseases. In the present study, we isolated and identified a marine fungus-derived sesquiterpenoid, 9α,14-dihydroxy-6ß-p-nitrobenzoylcinnamolide (named as Cpd-8), that inhibits TNF receptor superfamily-induced cell death by preventing the formation of cytosolic death complex II. EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH: Marine sponge-associated fungi were cultured and the secondary metabolites were extracted to yield pure compounds. Cell viability was measured by ATP-Glo cell viability assay. The effects of Cpd-8 on TNF signalling pathway were investigated by western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence assays. A mouse model of acute liver injury (ALI) was employed to explore the protection effect of Cpd-8, in vivo. KEY RESULTS: Cpd-8 selectively inhibits TNF receptor superfamily-induced apoptosis and necroptosis. Cpd-8 prevents the formation of cytosolic death complex II and subsequent RIPK1-RIPK3 necrosome, while it has no effect on TNF receptor I (TNFR1) internalization and the formation of complex I in TNF signalling pathway. In vivo, Cpd-8 protects mice against TNF-α/D-GalN-induced ALI. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS: A marine fungus-derived sesquiterpenoid, Cpd-8, inhibits TNF receptor superfamily-induced cell death, both in vitro and in vivo. This study not only provides a useful research tool to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of TNF-induced cell death but also identifies a promising lead compound for future drug development.

RESUMO

Introduction: Post-transcriptional RNA modifications are crucial regulators of tumor development and progression. In many biological processes, N1-methyladenosine (m1A) plays a key role. However, little is known about the links between chemical modifications of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and their function in bladder cancer (BLCA). Methods: Methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing and RNA sequencing were performed to profile mRNA and lncRNA m1A methylation and expression in BLCA cells, with or without stable knockdown of the m1A methyltransferase tRNA methyltransferase 61A (TRMT61A). Results: The analysis of differentially methylated gene sites identified 16,941 peaks, 6,698 mRNAs, and 10,243 lncRNAs in the two groups. Gene ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analyses of the differentially methylated and expressed transcripts showed that m1A-regulated transcripts were mainly related to protein binding and signaling pathways in cancer. In addition, the differentially genes were identified that were also differentially m1A-modified and identified 14 mRNAs and 19 lncRNAs. Next, these mRNAs and lncRNAs were used to construct a lncRNA-microRNA-mRNA competing endogenous RNA network, which included 118 miRNAs, 15 lncRNAs, and 8 mRNAs. Finally, the m1A-modified transcripts, SCN2B and ENST00000536140, which are highly expressed in BLCA tissues, were associated with decreased overall patient survival. Discussion: This study revealed substantially different amounts and distributions of m1A in BLCA after TRMT61A knockdown and predicted cellular functions in which m1A may be involved, providing evidence that implicates m1A mRNA and lncRNA epitranscriptomic regulation in BLCA tumorigenesis and progression.

RESUMO

Charge exchange and transfer between water and low-dimensional materials are critical for water-related nanogenerators to harvest electricity from water. By first-principles calculations and molecular dynamics simulations, the interface interaction and charge transfer between ion-containing or pure water and two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals monolayers including transition metal dichalcogenides, hexagonal boron nitride, and graphene have been systematically investigated. Applying uniaxial tensile strain or the introduction of defects on 2D monolayers could significantly enhance the interface interaction and charge transfer from 2D monolayers to water molecules, as the tensile strain or defect weakens the bonds of 2D monolayers and changes the hydrogen bond networks in the interfacial water layer. In contrast, the presence of ions in water suppresses the charge transfer from 2D monolayers to water molecules and reduces interfacial adhesion because of the formation of hydrated ions and stronger charge exchange between ions and water molecules. These results reveal the role of strain, defect, and ion in dominating the charge exchange and transfer between water and 2D monolayers.

RESUMO

Using non-noble metal atoms as catalysts is attractive for decreasing the cost of the CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). By screening first-row transition metals and noble metals through extensive first-principles calculations, non-noble Sc and Ti single atoms binding on vacancy-defected transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers exhibit better catalytic performance and selectivity for electrochemical CO2RR than noble metal single atoms. The overpotentials of Sc and Ti atoms for the CO2RR can be reduced lower than 0.09 V after applying suitable biaxial tensile strains on vacancy-defected TMDs, which are approximately 1 order of magnitude lower than that of most reported metal atom catalysts. The vacancy defects of TMDs and charge transfer to metal atoms induced by tensile strain play a key role in improving the catalytic activity of non-noble metal single atoms. These results highlight a possible way to design new single atom catalysts for electrochemical CO2RR by utilizing the combination of non-noble metal atoms, defected TMDs, and strain engineering.

RESUMO

In this work, a solar-blind UV metal-semiconductor Schottky photodiode array is constructed by using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition grown ε-Ga2O3 thin film, possessing high-performance and self-powered characteristics, toward dual-mode (self-powered and biased modes) binary light communication. For the array unit, the responsivity, specific detectivity, and external quantum efficiency are 30.8 A/W/6.3 × 10-2 A/W, 1.51 × 104%/30.9%, 1.28 × 1014/5.4 × 1012 Jones for biased (-10 V)/self-powered operation. The rise and decay time are 0.19 and 7.96 ms at biased modes, respectively, suggesting an ability to trace fast light signal. As an array, the deviation of photocurrent is only 4.3%, highlighting the importance of accurate information communication. Through certain definition of "1/0" binary digital information, the "NY" and "IC" characters are communicated to illustrate the self-powered and biased modes by right of ASCII codes, based on the prepared ε-Ga2O3 solar-blind UV Schottky photodiode array. This work made dual-mode binary deep-UV light communication come true and may well guide the development of UV optoelectronics.

RESUMO

As an ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor, gallium oxide (Ga2O3) has been extensively applied in solar-blind photodetectors (PDs) owing to the absorbance cut-off wavelength of shorter than 280 nm, and the optimized technologies of detection performance is seriously essential for its further usages. Herein, a feasible thermal reorder engineering method was performed through annealing Ga2O3films in vacuum, O2and oxygen plasma atmospheres, realizing to tune solar-blind photosensing performance of Ga2O3PDs. Thermal treatment, in fact a crystal reorder process, significantly suppressed the noise in Ga2O3-based PDs and enhanced the photo-sensitivity, with the dark current decreasing from 154.63 pA to 269 fA and photo-to-dark current ratio magically raising from 288 to 2.85 × 104. This achievement is dependent of energy-band modulation in Ga2O3semiconductor, that is certified by first-principles calculation. Additionally, annealing in oxygen atmospheres notably reduces the concentration of oxygen vacancies in the surface of films, thereby improving the performance of the PDs; the oxygen vacancy is extremely concerned in oxide semiconductors in the view of physics of surface defects. In all, this work could display a promising guidance for modulating the performance of PDs based on wide bandgap oxide semiconductor, especially for hot Ga2O3issue.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Gastroparesis has a substantial impact on the quality of life but has limited treatment options, which makes it a public health concern. No bibliometric studies on gastroparesis have been published thus far. Thus, this article aims to summarize and analyze research hotspots to provide a reference for clinical researchers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Gastroparesis-related research articles were searched in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC), and relevant information was extracted after screening. A total of 1033 documents were analyzed with the bibliometric method using Microsoft Excel, Citespace, and VOSviewer. RESULTS: Overall, our search retrieved 1033 papers contributed by 966 research institutions from 53 countries. Since 1980, publications in this field have increased rapidly. United States (n = 645) and Temple University (n = 122) were the most productive country and institution, respectively. Parkman, with 96 publications, was the most prominent author. CONCLUSIONS: Research hotspots in gastroparesis can be summarized into four domains: innovation in diagnostic modalities, change of oral therapeutic agents, choice of surgical interventions, and pathological mechanisms. Future research on gastroparesis should focus on the quality of life of patients, diagnostic techniques, pyloromyotomy, and transpyloric stent placement.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between periodontitis and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Methods: This research was carried out according to the principles laid down by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guideline statement. We searched the Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, and WanFang databases from inception to July 1, 2023 to collect all relevant publications, with no restrictions on publication date or Languages. Cochrane's tool for assessing RoB was used to evaluate the RoB for RCTs. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to assess the RoB for cohort studies and case-control studies. Mean differences (MD) with 95 % confidence intervals (CI) were used for analysis of continuous data. Heterogeneity was measured using the I2 statistic. Revman 5.4 software was used for the meta-analysis. Results: 28 observational studies with 19611 patients, including 5813 cases in the postmenopausal osteoporosis group and 13798 cases in the non-osteoporosis group. The studies showed that the degrees of clinical attachment loss (CAL), probing depth (PD), gingival recession (GR), simplified oral hygiene index (OHIS), and percentage of sites with bleeding on probing (BOP) in the postmenopausal osteoporosis group were higher than those in the non-osteoporosis group[CAL(MD = 0.89(mm), 95 % CI [0.48,1.30], p < 0.00001), PD (MD = 0.27(mm), 95 % CI [0.13, 0.41], p = 0.0001), GR (MD = 0.28(mm), 95 % CI [0.20, 0.35], p < 0.00001), OHIS (MD = 1.32,95 % CI [1.12,1.51], p < 0.00001), BOP(MD = 12.71(%), 95 % CI [3.24,22.18], p = 0.009)]. Eleven studies found that bone mineral density (BMD) in the postmenopausal osteoporosis group was lower than that in non-osteoporosis group (MD = -0.41(U/cm2), 95 % CI [-0.77,-0.05], p = 0.03). The combined analysis results of the studies in the two groups showed that there were no significant differences in the loss of alveolar crestal height (ACH)[(MD = -1.76(%),95%CI [-3.64,0.12], p = 0.07)]. Conclusion: Postmenopausal osteoporosis patients are more likely to suffer from periodontitis, and the condition is easily aggravated.

RESUMO

With the continuous advancement of deep-ultraviolet (DUV) communication and optoelectronic detection, research in this field has become a significant focal point in the scientific community. For more accurate information collection and transport, the photodetector array of many pixels is the key of the UV imaging and commnication systems, and its photoelectric performance seriously depends on semiconductor material and array layout. Gallium oxide (Ga2O3) is an emerging wide bandgap semicondutor material which has been widely used in DUV dectection. Therefore, this paper mainly focuses on Ga2O3semiconductor detector array which has gained widespread attention in the field of DUV technique, from the perspective of individual device to array and its optoelectonic integration, for reviewing and discussing the research progress in design, fabrication, and application of Ga2O3arrays in recent years. It includes the structure design and material selection of array units, units growth and array layout, response to solar blind light, the method of imaging and image recognition. Morever, the future development trend of the photodetector array has been analyzed and reflected, aiming to provide some useful suggestions for the optimizing array structure, improving patterned growth technology and material growth quality. As well as Ga2O3optoelectronic devices and their applications are discussed in view of device physics and photophysics in detector.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Therapeutic options for ulcerative colitis (UC) have increased since the introduction of biologics a few decades ago. Due to the wide range of biologics available, physicians have difficulty in selecting biologics and do not know how to balance the best drug between clinical efficacy and safety. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of biologics in treating ulcerative colitis. METHODS: In this study, eight electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, Embase, Sinomed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chongqing VIP Information, and WanFang Data) were searched to collect eligible studies without language restrictions. Retrieved 1 June 2023, from inception. All articles included in the mesh analysis are randomised controlled trials (RCTs). The inclusion of drugs for each outcome was ranked using a curved surface under cumulative ranking (SUCRA). Higher SUCRA scores were associated with better outcomes, whereas lower SUCRA scores were associated with better safety. This study has registered with PROSPERO, CRD42023389483. RESULTS: Induction Therapy: Among the biologic therapies evaluated for induction therapy, vedolizumab demonstrated the highest efficacy in achieving clinical remission (OR vs daclizumab, 9.09; 95% CI, 1.01-81.61; SUCRA 94.1) and clinical response. Guselkumab showed the lowest risk of recurrence of UC (SUCRA 94.9%), adverse events resulting in treatment discontinuation (SUCRA 94.8%), and serious infections (SUCRA 78.0%). Maintenance Therapy: For maintenance therapy, vedolizumab ranked highest in maintaining clinical remission (OR vs mesalazine 4.36; 95% CI, 1.65-11.49; SUCRA 89.7) and endoscopic improvement (SUCRA 92.6). Infliximab demonstrated the highest efficacy in endoscopic improvement (SUCRA 92.6%). Ustekinumab had the lowest risk of infections (SUCRA 92.9%), serious adverse events (SUCRA 91.3%), and serious infections (SUCRA 67.6%). CONCLUSION: Our network meta-analysis suggests that vedolizumab is the most effective biologic therapy for inducing and maintaining clinical remission in UC patients. Guselkumab shows promise in reducing the risk of recurrence and adverse events during induction therapy. Infliximab is effective in improving endoscopic outcomes during maintenance therapy. Ustekinumab appears to have a favorable safety profile. These findings provide valuable insights for clinicians in selecting the most appropriate biologic therapy for UC patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Pyruvate is a widely used value-added chemical which also serves as a hub of various metabolic pathways. The fastest-growing bacterium Vibrio natriegens is a promising chassis for synthetic biology applications with high substrate uptake rates. The aim of this study was to investigate if the high substrate uptake rates of V. natriegens enable pyruvate production at high productivities. RESULTS: Two prophage gene clusters and several essential genes for the biosynthesis of byproducts were first deleted. In order to promote pyruvate accumulation, the key gene aceE encoding pyruvate dehydrogenase complex E1 component was down-regulated to reduce the carbon flux into the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Afterwards, the expression of ppc gene encoding phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase was fine-tuned to balance the cell growth and pyruvate synthesis. The resulting strain PYR32 was able to produce 54.22 g/L pyruvate from glucose within 16 h, with a yield of 1.17 mol/mol and an average productivity of 3.39 g/L/h. In addition, this strain was also able to efficiently convert sucrose or gluconate into pyruvate at high titers. CONCLUSION: A novel strain of V. natriegens was engineered which was capable to provide higher productivity in pyruvate synthesis. This study lays the foundation for the biosynthesis of pyruvate and its derivatives in fast-growing V. natriegens.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Metastases within liver or the brain are the most common causes of mortality from lung cancer (LC). Predicting liver or brain metastases before having evidence from imaging of the tumors is challenging but important for early patient intervention. According to mounting evidence, exosomes circulating within blood may facilitate cancer spread by transporting certain proteins for target cells. METHODS: Using liquid chromatography-MS/MS, we investigated the plasma exosomes' proteomic profiles derived from 42 metastatic LC patients [16 solitary liver metastasis (LM), together with 26 solitary brain metastasis (BM)] and 25 local advanced (LA) lung cancer cases without metastasis, together with five healthy controls (HC), assessing the LM and BM pathogenesis and find potential novel organ-designated proteomic biomarkers. Using ELISA assay, we verified the expression levels of three plasma exosomal protein biomarkers in 110 LC patients, including 40 solitary LM, 32 solitary BM and 38 LA, and 25 HC. RESULTS: In total, 143 and 120 differentially expressed exosome-based proteins (DEEPs) were found to be dysregulated in LM and BM of lung cancer (LM-DEEPs, BM-DEEPs), compared for LA lung cancer samples, respectively. The bioinformatics analyses indicated the heterogeneity and homogeneity in LM-DEEPs and BM-DEEPs. They were primarily engaged within proteomic triggering cascade, ECM-receptor interaction, and the collagen-containing extracellular matrix. Regarding heterogeneity, LM-DEEPs primarily consisted of proteoglycans, lipoprotein, integrin, and heat shock protein, whereas the BM-DEEPs consisted of calcium-dependent/S100 proteins. Furthermore, small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)-plasma-stemming exosome proteomics showed heterogeneity, which helped to explain some of the differences between SCLC and NSCLC's metastatic features. We also found that SELL and MUC5B could be used as diagnostic markers of BM, while APOH, CD81, and CCT5 could help diagnose LM in LC patients. Additionally, we demonstrated in a validation cohort that MUC5B and SELL could serve as biomarkers for diagnosing BM, and APOH could be a novel potential diagnostic biomarker of LM. CONCLUSION: We presented the comprehensive and comparative plasma-stemming exosomes' proteomic profiles from cases of LC who had isolated liver and brain metastases for the first time. We also suggested several possible biomarkers and pathogenic pathways that might be a great starting point for future research on LC metastasis.

RESUMO

For the slicing of superhard silicon nitride ceramics, diamond wire sawing technology has great potential for application, and its slicing surface characteristics are an important indicator of cutting quality. In this paper, the sawing experiments of silicon nitride ceramics were carried out within the range of industrial processing parameters of diamond wire sawing (saw wire speed: 800-1600 m/min, workpiece feed speed 0.1-0.4 mm/min). The effects of cutting parameters on the surface morphology, surface roughness and waviness of the as-sawn slices were analyzed. The results show that within the range of sawing parameters for industrial applications, the material on the diamond wire as-sawn surface of silicon nitride ceramics is removed mainly in a brittle mode, with the slice morphology showing brittle pits and regularly distributed wire marks in the 20-55 µm scale range. The surface roughness of the slices along the workpiece feed direction ranges from 0.27 to 0.38 µm and decreases with increasing saw wire speed and decreasing feed rate. The surface waviness ranges from 0.09 to 0.21 µm, which is in good agreement with the changing trend of the sliced-surface roughness. RESUMO

Solar-blind UV photodetectors have outstanding reliability and sensitivity in flame detection without interference from other signals and response quickly. Herein, we fabricated a solar-blind UV photodetector based on a La2O3/ε-Ga2O3 p-n heterojunction with a typical type-II band alignment. Benefiting from the photovoltaic effect formed by the space charge region across the junction interface, the photodetector exhibited a self-powered photocurrent of 1.4 nA at zero bias. Besides, this photodetector demonstrated excellent photo-to-dark current ratio of 2.68 × 104 under 254 nm UV light illumination and at a bias of 5 V, and a high specific detectivity of 2.31 × 1011 Jones and large responsivity of 1.67 mA/W were achieved. Importantly, the La2O3/ε-Ga2O3 heterojunction photodetector can rapidly respond to flames in milliseconds without any applied biases. Based on the performances described above, this novel La2O3/ε-Ga2O3 heterojunction is expected to be a candidate for future energy-efficient fire detection.

RESUMO

The impinging of water nanodroplets on solid surfaces is crucial to many nanotechnologies. Through large-scale molecular dynamics simulations, the size effect on the spreading of water nanodroplets after impinging on hydrophilic, graphite, and hydrophobic surfaces under low impinging velocities has been systematically studied. The spreading rates of nanodroplets first increase and then decrease and gradually become constant with the increase of nanodroplet diameter. The nanodroplets with the diameters of 17-19 nm possess the highest spreading rates because of the combined effect of the strongest interfacial interaction and the strongest surface interaction within water molecules. The highest water molecule densities, hydrogen bond numbers, and dielectric constants of interface and surface layers mainly contribute to the lowest interface work of adhesion and surface tension values at optimal diameters. These results unveil the nonmonotonic characteristics of spreading velocity, interface work of adhesion and surface tension with nanodroplet diameter for nanodroplets on solid surfaces.

RESUMO

Background: In recent years, the incidence of herpes zoster has risen steeply, the exact pathogenesis of the acute pain and the transformation into postherpetic neuralgia are still obscure, and the absence of effective management remains a major therapeutic challenge. The purpose of this study was to perform a qualitative and quantitative bibliometric analysis of the 100 most cited papers on herpes zoster. Materials and methods: Related literature were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Excel and VOSviewer software were applied to quantitatively analyze, and construct the bibliometric network charts. Results: The Top 100 most-cited papers published between 2000 and 2018 showed a fluctuating downward trend. The most studies were published in the year of 2000 (n = 12). The article entitled "A vaccine to prevent herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia in older adults" from Oxman MN, was the most-cited publication. The United States was the most contributing country, followed by the United Kingdom, and Italy. Finland occupied the highest citations per publication (CPP). The University of Colorado topped the list of institutions with the most publications with 18 articles and also had the most citations (average citations: 281.78 per article). Myron J Levin from the University of Colorado School of Medicine is the most published and most cited researcher overall, whereas Duke University's John W Gnann tops the list in terms of average CPP. Conclusion: In terms of the quantity of T100 articles, researchers, and organizations, the US is the predominant country. The most T100 papers were published in the special journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. The most academic focus remain the remedies for postherpetic neuralgia and vaccine development for individualized groups.
